In Nehemiah chapter 2, Nehemiah is very wise in his preparation and planning to build the city. But, he is also very careful to keep giving credit to God for all that he is doing. Christianity is always this balance of working wisely with God and seeing him working in and through us. Why do we too often get this out of balance?

How do you know when to pray and when to act?

In Nehemiah chapter two, Nehemiah knows it is time to act. What he is going to do is literally life-threatening, so how does he know he shouldn’t stop and keep praying? 

I think this is one of the most important questions we have as Christians - when should I pray, but when should I get up and act? 

This week we pause in our series to celebrate all the father figures in our lives and of course the best Father of all! 

Was Noah a good father, or just a guy that saved the planet?

We know Noah totally messed up later in life, but he did save the entire human race by obeying God and building a huge wild Ark. In doing all this, do you think he was a good father or just a good boat builder?

We’d love to see you on Sunday as we celebrate Fathers and look at Noah’s ‘Dadness’. Oh - and we’ll have a gret sausage sizzle after church cause you can't have fathers day without a good snarla!

This week we began our new series on the book of Nehemiah. We encourage you to take the time to read through the book as we journey together. 

When it feels like your life is falling apart, or you have received horrible news, where do your heart and soul go? For Nehemiah, it leads him into an amazing prayer and dependence on God, but I know that is not always the case for us. I wonder why?

Last week we started our new series on Know What You Believe, helping us to grow deeper in understanding our statement of faith with an exploration of theology about the Bible and the Trinity. I was captured with the image of the Trinity as a community of love making our ultimate reality social. In what ways have you been captured by the Trinity this week?

We are going through our statement of faith! This morning Chris leads us through the first part speaking primarily on the Trinity and the place this hold for us here at Agora Church. 

How do you know Jesus really rose from the dead?

I've heard all sorts of wild theories over the years about the resurrection of Jesus. What about you? Maybe He revived in the tomb because he never really died? Maybe the disciples hid his body? A huge question though is what is the relevance of the resurrection to me now?
