Last week, with Nehemiah overcoming the opposition to the wall building project the wall was finished – woohoo! That’s often where we finish telling the Nehemiah story – we love a happy ending.  But we are actually only halfway through the book, and in reality, things rarely work out so neatly in the middle of life.  So, this week we look at the book's final chapters with a focus on chapters 8 and 9 to discover that the key to faith through the messy stories in life is to focus on who God is!

In Nehemiah chapter two, Nehemiah knows it is time to act. What he is going to do is literally life-threatening, so how does he know he shouldn’t stop and keep praying? 

I think this is one of the most important questions we have as Christians - when should I pray, but when should I get up and act? 

Father’s Day Special

This week we pause in our series to celebrate all the father figures in our lives and of course the best Father of all! 

Was Noah a good father, or just a guy that saved the planet?

We know Noah totally messed up later in life, but he did save the entire human race by obeying God and building a huge wild Ark. In doing all this, do you think he was a good father or just a good boat builder?

We’d love to see you on Sunday as we celebrate Fathers and look at Noah’s ‘Dadness’. Oh - and we’ll have a gret sausage sizzle after church cause you can't have fathers day without a good snarla!

Rebuild | A Journey Through Nehemiah

This week we began our new series on the book of Nehemiah. We encourage you to take the time to read through the book as we journey together. 

When it feels like your life is falling apart, or you have received horrible news, where do your heart and soul go? For Nehemiah, it leads him into an amazing prayer and dependence on God, but I know that is not always the case for us. I wonder why?

The Call of Work

This week we have John Brennan on how we can outwork our lives as Christian in the context of work.

In a work world that is increasingly competitive and insecure, people often have nagging questions: Why am I doing this work? Why is it so hard? And is there anything I can do about it?

Sports Chaplaincy

This week we were joined by Phil Pawley from Sports Chaplaincy New Zealand.

This is a great organisation that is full of volunteers in sports communities providing free, accessible pastoral care, support and mentoring to athletes, staff official and their families.
